Hello. everyone! We are team India. This March, our team investigated the Korean Embassy's COP-based public diplomacy strategy. These are the main points.

1. India's Position on COP

At COP 26, most countries promised to implement carbon neutrality by 2050, but Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that they would achieve it by 2070. The reason why India is skeptical about COP26 is that although India is the world's third-largest carbon emitter, its per capita carbon emissions are low. India said the Cop27 would phase out all fossil fuel use if it supported its position at the previous meeting.

2. Current State of Environmental Public Diplomacy at the Korean Embassy in India

The Korean Embassy is working on various public diplomacy efforts to strengthen environmental cooperation with India. In April 2021, the Korean Embassy held the 'Indian Environmental College Student Conference' with the Indian Ministry of Environment to raise Indian university students' awareness of environmental issues.

3.COP-based Local Public Diplomacy Strategy

As a policy public diplomacy strategy, there is a way to inform India of Korean environmental policies. The education public diplomacy strategy is to boost exchanges between Korean and Indian college students, and the private public diplomacy strategy is a way for Korean vegan cosmetics companies to enter the Indian market. Finally, there is a way of environmental challenges. An example of this is the U.S. Embassy Eco Challenge.
