Title: Monthly UN SDGs Program

Hi! We’re team USA. The theme of April, 2023 was ‘Diplomacy Strategies of the Korean Companies Based on COP’.

We came up with the strategies that Korean companies would use for public diplomacy focused on COP, especially related to environmental education that companies could provide for good purpose.

- Environmental Education by Animation Characters: As childrens are the target of this environmental education, famous animation characters would be the source to easily get interest from them. By providing videos and activities such as drawing and writing related to environment protection, children will be able to raise awareness of importance about environment protection. Characters selected are Pucca, Pororo and Lava that are famous in Korea and also abroad.

- Monthly Topic of Animation:

1. March: Climate change/ Environment Destruction -> Focusing on COP’s Loss and Damage section, children will learn about the current status of climate change and environment destruction.
2. April: Clean Energy -> Focusing on UN SDGs’s goal Clean Energy, children will learn about clean energy as one way to protect the environment.
3. May: Carbon Neutrality/Net Zero -> Focusing on COP’s Reduction section, children will be able to learn the concept of carbon neutrality and Net Zero.
4. June: International Carbon Market -> Focusing on COP 27, children will learn that the international carbon market will help global society to achieve goals of carbon neutrality and Net Zero.

- Expected effects:

1. Educating future protagonists to be aware of COP and UN SDGs

2. Animation characters and companies gaining eco-friendly image

3. Korean animation characters gaining chance of promotion abroad
