Hi! This is Spain team. This time, we would like to talk about what the Paris Agreement is and examples of Policy Implementation Results for the Paris Agreement in Spain.
1. What is the Paris Agreement?
The Paris Agreement is a new framework convention on climate change that has been applied from January 2021 as the Kyoto Protocol expires in 2020 and has no end date. All member states should keep the increase in global average temperature to well below 2℃ above pre-industrial levels. Finally, it contains the contents of setting a greenhouse gas emission target and implementing the policy with the goal of net-zero carbon emissions.
2. Spain's 4 policies
-The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM)
-Emission Trading Scheme (ETS)
-Joint R&D in the clean energy field with Korea
We looked into Spain's efforts to implement the Paris Agreement along with the content and significance of the Paris Agreement. ‘Cooperation' is included in the Paris Agreement and the progress of Spain. Concerns for the environment of the earth we live on must continue beyond borders and ideologies. Thank you.
